Studio — Privacy Policy

About this app

Studio is a Shopify app that turns a merchant's existing product photos into professional, AI-generated product images and writes them back onto the product listing. This policy explains what data the app accesses, what it stores, and how it is handled. It covers the Studio Shopify app only.

What the app accesses

With the merchant's permission (Shopify OAuth scopes read_products, write_products, write_files), the app:

• reads your products and their existing images, so you can pick one to restyle;
• writes generated images back to the products you choose;
• uploads generated image files to your store's files.

The app does not request or access your customers' personal information, orders, or checkout data.

What we store

• your store's domain and the Shopify session/authentication tokens needed to run the app;
• if you connect a Studio (website) account, the email and a link token for that account, so generations can use your saved models and credits;
• a record of the images you generate (product title, chosen look, and the image URL) to power the in-app Gallery;
• for stores billed through Shopify, a per-billing-period count of images generated, used to apply your plan's included allowance and any overage.

We do not store your end customers' personal data.

How product photos are processed

To generate an image, the app sends the source product photo and your chosen style to the Studio generation service, which produces the new image and returns a URL that Shopify ingests. Generated images are stored so they can be delivered to your store and shown in your Gallery.

Service providers

We share data only with the providers needed to run the service:

• Studio generation backend (studio.bichachi.com) — performs the image generation and stores results;
• Cloud hosting & storage — runs the app and stores generated images;
• Shopify — for authentication, reading/writing products, and (for Shopify-billed stores) billing.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while the app is installed. We honour Shopify's privacy webhooks: a customer data request and customer-redaction request are acknowledged (the app stores no end-customer personal data), and a shop-redaction request — sent about 48 hours after you uninstall — erases everything we hold for your store (account link, generation records, sessions, and usage counts). You can also contact us anytime to request deletion.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access is limited to what the app needs to function.

We may update this policy as the app evolves; material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
